The American Presidents Series

The American Presidents Series is a series of short biographies of the presidents of the United States, written by eminent historians, journalists, and public figures.

The Pulitzer Prize –winning historian Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. established the series and served as general editor until his death in 2007; he was succeeded by Sean Wilentz of Princeton University. 

In his capacity as editorial director of Times Books and executive editor of Henry Holt and Company, Paul Golob was the publisher of the series and personally edited the majority of the volumes, including the books listed below.
